As Dave points out in the comments to this post: sLop: Java wrapper for ffmpeg there is a new open source FFMPEG JNI JMF wrapper: Omnividea FOBS – FFMpeg C & JMF Bindings..

Gotta love those acronyms.. :-) Sorry.
